Paramedic Studies (AAS) Two-Year Plan


The Paramedic Studies AAS degree prepares the student for industry certification exam (NREMT) as a Paramedic and includes the general education courses needed to complete the AAS degree.

Paramedicine Certificate Information
  • The Paramedicine Certificate   is embedded in the degree. EMS 262A, EMS 262B, and EMS 262C are the only requirements to be awarded the certificate.
  • Taking General Education courses concurrent with EMS 262 is not recommended.
Prerequisites for EMS 262:
  • EMT Certification
  • Current BLS Provider Level CPR Certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Verification that a student has proficiency in reading at the 9th grade level. Multiple measures are employed to verify this requirement
  • Vaccinations as required by clinical internship site(s)
