CIS 171 - Linux Administration II Credits: 4 Lecture: Four Lecture. This is the second of a two-course series (CIS161 and CIS171) designed to provide students with a working knowledge of Linux. This course is aligned with the CompTIA Linux+ certification.
Course Outcomes: Students will be able to:
- install, configure, and monitor kernel modules;
- manage and configure networking;
- compare and contrast cloud, virtualization, and orchestration concepts;
- manage services and automate/schedule jobs;
- explain linux security best practices;
- backup, restore, and compress files;
- analyze system and process monitoring;
- Write and deploy BASH scripts.
Prerequisite(s): CIS 161
