ART 121 - Ceramics II

Lecture: One lecture.
Lab: Five lab.
Emphasis on developing intermediate skill with the potter’s wheel and hand building methods, glazing and decoration techniques, and kiln operations.
Course Outcomes:
Students will be able to:
- demonstrate an intermediate level of skill in hand building and wheel throwing technique;
- demonstrate an intermediate level of skill in surface decoration techniques;
- demonstrate intermediate knowledge of glazes and glazing techniques;
- prepare glazes from raw materials;
- demonstrate intermediate knowledge in kiln operations in the firing process.
Prerequisite(s): ART 120 .
