ART 191 - Oil/Acrylic Painting II
Credits: 3
Lecture: One lecture.
Lab: Five lab.
Intermediate course in developing expressive and descriptive skills using oil and/or acrylic paint.
Course Outcomes:
Students will be able to:
- apply basic color theory;
- demonstrate the importance of “gesture” in painting;
- use a sketchbook in planning their works and as a reservoir of ideas;
- demonstrate skill in techniques such as scumbling, glazing, impasto and blending;
- and evaluate finished work from the standpoint of material use, technique, and composition.
Prerequisite(s): ART 160 and ART 190
Grading Option: May be taken for S/U credit.
