CHM 152 - General Chemistry II Credits: 5 Lecture: Four lecture. Lab: Three lab.
Continuation of Chemistry 151 with an emphasis on kinetics and equilibrium, nuclear, aqueous solution, and electrochemistry.
Course Outcomes: Students will be able to:
- apply the scientific method to the study of chemistry;
- communicate laboratory results in written and oral form;
- manipulate and use the metric system for measurements and analysis;
- perform quantitative calculations including:
- equilibrium constants;
- half-life and mass-energy;
- Redox equations ;
- various laws and principles;
- demonstrate an understanding of reaction kinetics, rate laws and reaction rates;
- solve problems requiring applications of abstract concepts and algebraic manipulation;
- and utilize basic laboratory techniques.
Prerequisite(s): CHM 151 . General Education: Physical and Biological Sciences
