AUT 200 - General Maintenance and Service Credits: 3 Lecture: Two lecture. Lab: Two lab.
This course is designed to prepare students in automotive maintenance techniques and vehicle inspection. The course includes customer service, vehicle identification, safety inspection, maintenance and inspection task for the an automotive dealership. This course will also include preparation for the ASE - G1 Auto Maintenance and Light Repair certification.
Course Outcomes: Students will be able to: - perform an engine oil and filter change on a typical vehicle;
- perform an automatic transmission/transaxle fluid change on a typical vehicle;
- perform a fluid change on a manual transmission, differential, and/or transfer case;
- perform a coolant drain and fill, R&R wipers, hoses, and belt;
- perform a tire inspection and rotation;
- perform a comprehensive vehicle inspection;
- perform an air conditioning component inspection;
- perform a multipoint inspection (MpI) and understand the importance.
