AUT 142 - Automotive HVAC Credits: 3 Lecture: Two lecture. Lab: Two lab.
This course will provide a student with the knowledge and understanding of how heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems work in an automobile and prepares them for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 609 industry certificate.
Course Outcomes: Students will be able to:
- explain the principles, components, functions, and interactions of automotive heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems;
- perform inspection, removal and replacement procedures on heating and air conditioning systems;
- perform refrigerate evacuation, reclaim, and recharge procedures on Air Conditioning systems;
- summarize the environmental impacts of refrigerates;
- prepare for the EPA 609 industry exam.
Prerequisite(s): AUT 100. Grading Option: May be taken for S/U credit.
