ART 131 - Introduction to Communication Design
Credits: 3
Lecture: One lecture.
Lab: Five Lab.
Studio course. Introduction to issues of design theory, principles and visual literacy. Projects designed to strengthen understanding of creative and critical thinking and demonstrate problem-solving.
Course Outcomes:
Students will be able to:
- demonstrate entry-level conceptual skills through ability to apply design principles to support a concept or idea;
- demonstrate observation skills through their submission of course projects and participation in discussions;
- demonstrate the ability to employ entry-level design elements and principles through the completion of course projects;
- demonstrate an understanding of semiotics.
