BIO 105 - Environmental Biology Credits: 4 Lecture: Three lecture. Lab: Three lab.
Basic concepts of ecology and the importance of human interaction with the natural ecosystem. Field trips.
Course Outcomes: Students will be able to:
- Describe key ecological relationships between organisms and their environment.
- Summarize key concepts in evolutionary biology.
- Conduct scientific inquiry through hypothesis testing, including data collection and analysis.
- Use diagrams, graphs and/or tables to communicate data and scientific observations effectively.
- Communicate scientific ideas in writing using credible sources and proper citation.
- Explain major anthropogenic effects on global, regional and local biological systems;
- Evaluate potential solutions to global change, such as climate change and biodiversity loss.
