BIO 105 - Environmental Biology

Basic concepts of ecology and the importance of human interaction with the natural ecosystem. Field trips.

 

Course Outcomes:
Students will be able to:
 

  1. Describe key ecological relationships between organisms and their environment.
  2. Summarize key concepts in evolutionary biology.
  3. Conduct scientific inquiry through hypothesis testing, including data collection and analysis.
  4. Use diagrams, graphs and/or tables to communicate data and scientific observations effectively.
  5. Communicate scientific ideas in writing using credible sources and proper citation.
  6. Explain major anthropogenic effects on global, regional and local biological systems;
  7. Evaluate potential solutions to global change, such as climate change and biodiversity loss.
