ENG 102H - College Composition II Honors Credits: 3 Lecture: 3 Lecture. Continued development of ideas and strategies introduced in ENG 101/101A. Extensive practice in critical thinking, reading, and writing with emphasis on composing analytical essays and a documented research paper. This course is designed for students who desire an academically enhanced educational experience and/or wish to enroll in additional Honors classes at CCC.
Course Outcomes: Students will be able to:
- analyze, synthesize, and evaluate a variety of print and electronic texts;
- engage in the writing and research processes to compose academic texts;
- compose texts using a variety of technologies for a range of rhetorical situations;
- analyze and critique their own writing and peer writing;
- control general conventions of diction, syntax, mechanics, and formatting expected in standard written English;
- integrate evidence to support their own ideas, using quoting, paraphrasing, and summarizing;
- choose and apply an academic documentation style to suit purpose and audience;
- engage the community in the context of an extra-curricular experience.
