MAT 161 - Introduction to Data Science Credits: 3 Lecture: Three lecture. Graphical representation of data; categorical and continuous data. Bivariate and multivariate relationships with geographical and temporal considerations.
Course Outcomes: Students will be able to:
- create graphics exploring relationships between covariates utilizing a variety of geometric representations;
- assess the effectiveness of different data representations;
- consider reasons behind ways to explore geographical and temporal relationships;
- construct interactive graphics to facilitate inquiry.
Prerequisite(s): MAT 142 / MAT 140 or higher level course
