CIS 240 - Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft Windows Server Credits: 4 Lab/Lecture: Four lecture.
Installing, configuring, managing and supporting Microsoft Windows environment. This course helps to prepare students to take the Microsoft Certified Professional exam for implementing a Microsoft Windows Server Environment. Course Outcomes: Students will be able to:
- perform an attended installation of Windows Server;
- deploy service packs;
- monitor, configure, troubleshoot, and control access to printers;
- monitor, configure, troubleshoot, and control access to files, folders, and shared folders;
- configure driver signing options;
- monitor and optimize usage of system resources;
- optimize disk performance;
- manage and optimize availability of System State data and user data;
- recover System State data and user data;
- monitor, configure, and troubleshoot disks and volumes;
- configure data compression;
- monitor and configure disk quotas;
- install, configure, and troubleshoot shared access;
- install, configure, and troubleshoot network protocols;
- implement, configure, manage, and troubleshoot policies in a Windows environment;
- implement, configure, manage, and troubleshoot local accounts;
- implement, configure, manage, and troubleshoot Account Policy.
Prerequisite(s): CIS 130 Grading Option: May be taken for S/U credit.
