ASL 201 - American Sign Language III Credits: 4 Lab/Lecture: Four lecture.
Enhanced focus on expressive and receptive American Sign Language sign skills. Application of syntactical and grammatical structure, idioms, body language, and cultural aspects of deafness. Course Outcomes: Students will be able to:
- respond to unanticipated questions on familiar topics;
- express opinions about familiar topics;
- demonstrate comprehension of main ideas and of extended discourse on increasingly complex topics;
- describe norms, values and beliefs of deaf culture;
- write one research paper on deaf related studies (min 300 words).
Prerequisite(s): ASL 102 General Education: Options. Grading Option: May be taken for S/U credit.
