ART 194 - Watercolor I
Credits: 3
Lab/Lecture: One lecture. Five lab.
Introduction to watercolor painting techniques and materials.
Course Outcomes:
Students will be able to:
- demonstrate knowledge of the different types of brushes, papers, and watercolor pigments through their use;
- demonstrate the basic washes: wet-into-wet, wet-into-dry, flat, graded, wash ‘n line;
- demonstrate pull-off, resist, and scratch techniques;
- and demonstrate their knowledge of basic color theory as it applies to watercolor painting.
Prerequisite(s): ART 110 or consent from instructor.
Grading Option: May be taken for S/U credit.
