ART 210 - Life Drawing I Credits: 3 Lab/Lecture: One lecture. Five lab.
Applications of the elements of drawing in the description of the human figure, drawing from the model. Topics include: light and shade, composition, and anatomy. Course Outcomes: Students will be able to:
- demonstrate drawing processes using the human figure as subject via gesture drawing;
- develop perceptual skills of positive and negative shapes through contour drawing of the figure;
- display skill sets of perception through varied time-length poses;
- analyze and address drawing problems of anatomical proportions and compositional issues;
- develop abilities to work with a variety of traditional and non-traditional materials;
- and contribute to individual and group critiques.
Prerequisite(s): ART 110 Grading Option: May be taken for S/U credit.
