AUT 106 - Engines Credits: 3 Lab/Lecture: Two lecture. Two lab.
Personal and environmental safety and an overview of the design, operation, diagnosis and service procedures of late-model and modern automotive engines. Students participate in the disassembly, inspection and reassembly. Service and technical data are presented to prepare the students for practical experience in engine servicing. Course Outcomes: Students will be able to:
- explain the construction, operation, diagnosis and repair of a four-stroke late-model and modern automotive engines;
- summarize the function and location of major engine parts, detail engine design variations, and engine size and performance measures.
Pre/Corequisite(s): AUT 100 . Grading Option: May be taken for S/U credit.
