HIS 132 - U.S. History from 1877 Credits: 3 Lab/Lecture: Three lecture.
History of the United States and the peoples and forces that shape it from the end of Reconstruction to the present. Course Outcomes: Students will be able to:
- demonstrate and analyze the impacts of the Civil War and Reconstruction on American history;
- describe and explain the transformation of the American economy and culture;
- identify and explain the evolution of American political institutions;
- identify and explain the contributions of different ethnic, racial and gender groups to American history;
- discuss and appraise the changing role of the United States in the world;
- utilize historical evidence and theories to explain and analyze contemporary United States, its diversity and the challenges it faces.
General Education: Social/Behavioral Sciences. Special Requirement(s): Contemporary Global/International Awareness or Historical Awareness; Ethnic/Race/Gender Awareness.
