The Coconino Community College Basic Detention Academy is designed to provide entry level training to detention/corrections officer staff, meeting Arizona Detention Association standards.

Program Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to: - demonstrate the ethics and professionalism expected in the law enforcement and/or corrections fields;
- apply elements of constitutional and state law as they pertain to Arizona law enforcement, corrections, and courts;
- demonstrate the knowledge, fitness, and skills necessary to become a detention officer.
