Program Description
The Certificate of Completion in Collision Repair Technician gives students the knowledge and hands-on experience to start a career in the automotive collision repair industry. Learn about metal and plastic repair, metal inert gas (MIG) welding, vehicle disassembly, refinishing, reassembly, estimate reading, coolant removal/replacement, and air conditioning (A/C) discharge/recharge and industry terminology. Program Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to: 1. practice personal and workplace safety standards; 2. use, maintain, and store tools, equipment and workspace according to professional standards for the automotive industry; 3. create a repair plan that includes the analysis of the damage, needed tools, chemicals, additives, time, cost, and parts to complete a collision and refinish repair job; 4. produce a damage repair independently; 5. produce refinishing work independently; 6. recognize efficient and quality work according to industry standards; 7. demonstrate industry professionalism and a commitment to professional development such as I-CAR, NATEF, or ASE certifications; 8. communicate effectively by collaborating with diverse audiences orally, visually, and in writing; 9. demonstrate professionalism with conduct, ethics, and workplace practices; Total Certificate Credit Hours: 15
