MAT 151 - College Algebra Credits: 4 Lab/Lecture: Four lecture.
College level algebra, including equations, functions, matrices, and inequalities will be studied. Course Outcomes: Students will be able to:
- define functions and relations;
- solve various systems of equations with several methods, including matrices;
- use the properties and operations of matrices;
- graph equations and functions using various methods including technology;
- solve linear, quadratic, rational, absolute value, polynomial, and radical equations;
- utilize logarithmic and exponential properties to solve related equations;
- simplify expressions involving complex numbers;
- and solve application situations related to methods presented in this course.
Prerequisite(s): MAT 097 or placement. General Education: Mathematics.
