ASL 202 - American Sign Language IV Credits: 4 Lab/Lecture: Four lecture.
Further development of American Sign Language communication skills with emphasis on spontaneous conversation, discussions, narratives, and register. Course Outcomes: Students will be able to:
- respond to unanticipated questions on unfamiliar topics;
- maintain a conversation on immediate needs with limited linguistic accuracy;
- demonstrate comprehension of main ideas of lengthier discourse, including details on increasingly complex content areas and unanticipated topics;
- demonstrate further understanding of norms, values, and beliefs of deaf culture;
- give a minimum of one, 15 minute in-class presentation incorporating knowledge of norms, values, beliefs, and key core assumptions relating to deaf culture.
Prerequisite(s): ASL 201 General Education: Options. Grading Option: May be taken for S/U credit.
