The Associates of Applied Science Degree in Early Childhood Education is designed to prepare students for positions within the field of Early Childhood Education as well as prepare them to earn a baccalaureate degree in ECE. Students will also earn the Early Childhood Education Certificate as part of this program.

Program Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- design and implement developmentally, culturally, and linguistically appropriate learning experiences that promote each child’s growth and development in the following domains: social-emotional, physical, cognitive, and language and literacy;
- create and maintain a safe, caring, inclusive, and healthy learning environment according to best practices and local, state, and national standards;
- assess children’s learning and development through observation and documentation, using guidelines established by the profession;
- establish culturally responsive relationships with families, communities and professional colleagues;
- practice ethical and professional standards and behavior;
- create a literacy-rich environment;
- provide appropriate accommodations for students with exceptionalities and special needs;
- understand and apply early childhood education theories.
General Education Requirements: 25 credits
All general education coursework must be selected from the approved AGEC list.
